Tollgate Village is zoned for the following Williamson County Schools:
Oak View opened its doors on November 22, 1993. It is a K-5 elementary school with an enrollment of 550 students. The school has specialized curriculum in music, art, library, physical education, resource and gifted education, and guidance. Students enjoy a wireless computer lab with 26 Macintosh I Books and Dell Laptops. Five 21st century classrooms with Internet access, laser disc players and wide-screen TVs provide the infrastructure for state-of-the-art technology learning.
In 1981, Page Middle School opened its doors for the first time, donning a name steeped in local Williamson County school history. Fred J. Page, a former Superintendent of Schools, began his career in 1899 and served in that position for forty-two years. It is a 6-8 middle school with an enrollment of 842 students.
Independence High School (IHS) opened as a new school in fall 2004. The school’s enrollment is approximately 1,160 students. IHS will have its first graduating class in the 2006-2007 school year. The school centers on collaborative evaluation of student work. Faculty teams meet on focus days to examine student work and use established protocols to suggest ways to improve teacher instruction with the overall goal of improving student achievement. In addition, emphasis is placed on making students aware of what is essential learning for each course.
