The Earth Moves In Tollgate Village

Posted: 5/6/2008

(Thompson's Station, TN.) When the earth moves, people write about it. Carole King felt strongly enough to pen her classic song of the seventies when she felt the earth move under her feet. Press was given more recently when Nashvillians felt a whole lotta shakin' going on a few weeks ago when an earthquake, centered in Illinois, rumbled its way south. But the community of Tollgate Village has it all over Ms. King after the earth not only moved but parted in this charming, rural neighborhood located in Thompson's Station, south of Franklin near Nashville. The Tollgate tremor was caused by renowned developers, James Carbine of Carbine Development and Larry McAlexander of Heritage Development, who are dishing the dirt to make way for the commercial section of the village which will house the new Medical Pavilion. The 4-acre health care campus will be managed by a joint venture between Williamson Medical Center and St. Thomas Hospital. The first effort of Williamson Saint Thomas Community Health will be placement of primary care physician Scott Lieberman, M.D., who temporarily is practicing on the WMC campus. Other potential services to follow at Tollgate include obstetricians/gynecologists, other physician specialists, outpatient physical therapy, outpatient imaging, sleep lab services, and women's health education. In addition, the commercial section of Tollgate will accommodate over 70 acres of retail property, affording residents on-site, upscale shopping, banking, cafes, and restaurants. CVS Pharmacy has anchored their position as the first retail tenant. Staged within the community, village residents will enjoy a fitness center, swimming pool, basketball and tennis courts, and a series of parks and walking trails.
Tollgate's offering of multi-purpose living quarters is appealing to buyers of all ages and stages of life from the first time home buyer and single professional to the empty nester looking to downsize. "Tollgate is a thriving community, ever-changing and ever-growing", boasts Beth Sturm, Director of Sales and Marketing for Tollgate Village. "Final touches are being added to the beach entry pools in preparation for a grand Memorial Day opening". Pegan Sherick, Tollgate Village Community Sales Manager, reveals, "Besides shopping and dining, Tollgate offers outdoor amenities such as parks, playgrounds, and an outdoor amphitheatre." What sets Tollgate apart from other Traditional Neighborhood Development communities, growing in popularity nationwide, are the fiber optic connections to each home and business. Wanting to provide Tollgate with state-of-the-art utilities, but finding local costs extremely high, developer James Carbine decided to take on the task at hand and created Crystal Clear Technologies. Straying from the traditional copper and coax cables, the fiber optic network provides extensive bandwidth further enhancing digital video, high-definition television, high speed internet, and digital phone services. "For the home-town feel of yesteryear with all of the amenities and technological advances of today, Tollgate is a place you can call home", exclaims James Carbine, proudly. "Residents here are creating a future, not only for Tollgate Village, but for the city of Thompson's Station", he adds.
